Description
I visited this amazing site twice on this fine September day. You can see the Deckers Creek Hiking Trail in this photo, it's on the far side of the stream, above the waterfalls.
The shot was captured on September 12th, 2011 with my Canon 10D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 17mm focal length. A ND-4 Neutral Density filter was used with a Circular Polarizer. The shutter speed was 1.5 seconds at f/16. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head.
These three natural spillways are located on Decker Creek in northern West Virgina, USA. This beautiful site can be found between Grier and Masontown near Cascade on Route 7, about ten miles east of Morgantown (Home of the West Virginia University Mountaineers).
Here is a little background about this area:
I was born here and I grew up seeing Deckers Creek frequently. When I was a young boy, this stream was so polluted that the water was a dark rusty black color and it smelled awful. Nobody wanted to go near the place. Today, it is one of the most beautiful places to see in all of West Virginia. Deckers Creek is one very welcome environmental success story.

Marvelous waterscape. Perfect exposure time (probably 0.25 - 1 second?). Voted (All Seasons Landscapes group).
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you very kindly, Ram! (Good exposure estimate! ...it was one and a half seconds.) Best regards, Gene
