Description
Today, with a major snowstorm well under weigh, I just had to stop at Adams Falls in Ricketts Glen. I had a delivery to make in this area ...so of course, I took my camera and crampons along on the trip. I wanted to hike up through Ricketts Glen, but the snow started coming down so heavily that I decided to put off the rest of my winter shoot until it becomes safer for traveling.
This image was shot with a Canon 5D DSLR camera body, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 17mm Ultra-Wide focal length. The aperture was set to f/16 with a 4.0 second exposure. The ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod and pistol grip head were used with a remote shutter release cable.
Adams is the first waterfall at the very bottom of the gorge in Ricketts Glen, just over the hill from the Evergreen Parking Area, which was closed for the winter months.
Ricketts Glen is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. This is about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.

Very pretty capture of Adams, Gene. Was at RGSP last Saturday with Lori Deiter, Mark Van Scyoc and Doug Reese. We need to schedule a meetup this Spring...
Gene Walls replied:
Thanks, Aaron! Yes, a spring hike with you would be great. I'm still waiting for the right conditions for my winter hike. I tried to shoot more falls after I took this photo. Then a strong snowstorm blew in and visibility dropped to zero. I had to give up on the hike and sadly returned home with only this one shot. Kindest regards, Gene

Beautifully presented multi-drop fall! Delightful capture, Gene! F&V
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you so much, Richard! Adams is a wonderfully unique formation to visit & shoot. A snowstorm cut my hike short on Thursday, so this was the only shot I was able to capture on that trip. Best wishes, Gene

What a beautiful capture. So much to see in this.
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you very kindly, Dale! It's quite an interesting gorge, with lots of twists and turns in the stream's flow. Best regards, Gene

Wonderful Image Gene .... Like how you caught the water movement .... L/F/t
Gene Walls replied:
Thanks a lot, Rick! After sub-zero temps last night, I'm sure there is very little motion there today. Kindest regards, Gene

Thank you very kindly, Bob! I was fortunate to catch this shot before the falls were frozen over. We're in the deep-freeze today. Best winter wishes, Gene
