Description
Conestoga Falls has been one of the most commonly miss-identified waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park. Fortunately, a new sign has been added here to positively identify this elusive landmark. So many photos I have seen had been incorrectly labeled as Conestoga, when they were actually pictures of unnamed or completely different waterfalls. I made that mistake myself on one of my photos a few years ago. I was determined to get it right this time. The official park placard now confirms the correct location of this small waterfall on Kitchen Creek. This photograph shows the top section of Conestoga Falls.
The photo was shot using Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, mounted on a Canon EOS 10D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/13 with a shutter speed of .7 seconds, at the 17mm focal length, ISO 100.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre.
