Description
I stopped at Waters Meet two times during my hike on October 8th. This shot was captured during my first visit of the day here. I was enjoying a quick lunch, taking advantage of the only park bench that is available on the Falls Trails. Feeling nourished and refreshed, I waited for a cloud to pass overhead to even out the harsh sunlight, before snapping this shot.
The Waters Meet Point is the central hub where the two main branches of Kitchen Creek merge and the Falls Trails converge. This site is located just downstream from Erie Falls on the Ganoga Glen Trail and the Wyandot waterfall on the Glen Leigh Trail (both waterfalls visible from this one spot). It is also a short distance upstream from the Harrison Wright waterfall, on the lower portion of the falls trail.
This photograph was captured on Wednesday, October 8th, 2014, on a solo autumn hike through Ricketts Glen. The shot was photographed with a Canon EOS 5D camera through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 33mm focal length. The exposure was 0.3 seconds at f/8.0, ISO 100. A 77mm ND-4 Neutral Density filter was mounted on the lens. The camera was securely mounted on a Manfrotto 055CLB tripod with a Manfrotto 222 “Pistol Grip” head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.
