Description
You are currently gazing up the very active Kitchen Creek, with Seneca Falls in the foreground. The great Ganoga waterfall is also visible in the distance. The narrow pathway and rugged natural stone stairs that lead past Seneca Falls creates one of the most interesting sections to be found along the Ganoga Glen Trail through Ricketts Glen State Park, in north eastern Pennsylvania, USA. It was wonderful to find that the trees here were still near their peak of autumn color on this perfect fall day.
The photo was captured in the early afternoon on October 18th, 2011. The shot was taken with a Canon 30D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the wide 17mm focal length. The exposure was 1.3 seconds @ f/20. ISO was set to 125. A ND-4 Neutral Density filter was used, combined with a Circular Polarizer that was stacked in front. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
Ricketts Glen is located near the community of Red Rock, PA, at the junction of Pennsylvania Routes 118 and 487, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre.

Thanks, Eti! It is more fun that I could very describe. I do love this place. So many waterfalls to be seen in one wilderness area. It's the best, in every season. Kindest wishes, Gene

Gene, this is splendid. I am working on improving my waterfall images, and I believe I can learn a lot by studying your photos. Thanks for sharing this outstanding image.
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you so much for extremely kind compliment, Jack! I actually wrote an article detailing the methods and settings that I often use for shooting waterfalls, if you are interested. It can be found at this web address: http://www.redbubble.com/people/profaudio/journal/5293855-some-tips-for-waterfall-photos Best regards, Gene
