Description
The Cayuga Waterfall was especially beautiful on this warm autumn day. Low water levels allowed new views and angles that I had never been able to try on previous visits. The fall leaves were starting to gather in the calm plunge pool and their brilliant golds, oranges and reds were decorating the surrounding rocky landscape.
Cayuga Falls is the third waterfall you will see when you begin hiking from the Lake Rose parking area, by taking the Ganoga Glen Trail in Ricketts Glen State Park. Cayuga is located a short distance below the Oneida waterfall.
This photograph was captured on Monday, October 4th, 2013, on a solo autumn hike through Ricketts Glen. The shot was captured with a Canon EOS 5D camera through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 17mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1.3 seconds at f/10, ISO 100. A 77mm ND-8 Neutral Density filter was mounted on the lens. The camera was securely mounted on a Manfrotto 055CLB tripod with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
This image is presented "As-Is", Straight from the camera, with no post processing.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.
