Description
Delaware Falls is a site that reveals the true beauty of nature's "divine chaos". Two large trees and several smaller ones are growing on a dirt-free boulder that has become an island in the middle of the falls plunge pool. Lots of debris accumulates around this area, creating several interesting spillways and ever changing channels in the creek. I have many photos of this site that do not look like they could possibly be of the same place that is shown here. That's nature.
This waterfall is found on the Ganoga branch of Kitchen Creek, half way between the Seneca and Mohican waterfalls on the Ganoga Glen trail.
The photo was captured in the early afternoon on October 18th, 2011. The shot was taken with a Canon 30D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 17mm focal length. The exposure was 1/6th of a second @ f/8, ISO 125. A ND-4 Neutral Density filter was used, combined with a Circular Polarizer that was stacked in front. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
Ricketts Glen is located near the community of Red Rock, PA, at the junction of Pennsylvania Routes 118 and 487, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre.
