Description
The nearest waterfall to reach on the "Waterfall Loop" in Ricketts Glen is Mohawk Falls. This dramatic 37 foot cascade is found at the very top of Ganoga Glen Trail in Ricketts Glen State Park.
It was a shortly after eight am, on a very damp day, when we heard the roar and then saw this beautifully misty scene. I was able to setup my tripod very near the same same spot I used to capture an icy winter shot here, just six weeks earlier.
This shot was captured during a hike through Ricketts Glen with photographer Mark Van Scyoc.
This photograph was captured on Monday, April 25th, 2011 with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 10D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/13 with a shutter speed 2 seconds at the 17mm focal length, ISO 100. The photo is as-is, "straight from the camera". No cropping, adjustments or enhancements have been applied.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.
