Description
There are so many problems with this photograph …it’s a bit dark, one strong element is positioned directly in front of another and it isn’t very well balanced.
I don’t care. I really like it anyway. Sometimes you have to break some of the established “rules” to find something that is just plain pleasing to your eye. This shot makes me very happy …maybe a few other viewers will like it as well.
It was cold and rainy today, so like the fool I am, I headed out to a couple of our local City Parks to try to find some new spring blossoms to shoot. This is one of the more impressive trees near the old gazebo in Brandon Park, in the heart of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Our city is located in the north central region of the state, in the good ol’ US of A.
A Canon EOS 30D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens, were used to capture this image. The lens was set to the 17 focal length. The camera’s shutter speed was 1/20th sec at f/8 and the ISO was 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a 222 pistol grip head. The photo was snapped with the mirror in the locked up position, using a remote shutter release cable.
