Description
I just couldn't help myself. The opportunity was there to meet some friends for a shoot in Ricketts Glen, so I immediately said yes! Even though I was just there two weeks ago, I just couldn't pass up the chance to get back in the glen.
The cloudless sky was a perfect azure blue, fantastic for an enjoyable spring hike... but not so conducive for great waterfall photos. None-the-less, I think this image still shows how gorgeous it was in Ricketts Glen this afternoon.
This image of Ozone Falls was captured on May 10th, 2011. It was taken with a Canon 10D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 38mm focal length. The aperture was f/19 with a 1/6th second shutter speed at ISO 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release.
The image is presented "as-is". It was simply converted to jpeg from the camera RAW file in Photoshop CS2. No cropping or alterations were applied.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.

Beautiful, I like this view from farther back, it shows the nature so well fv
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you very kindly, Byron! This is one of the few waterfalls here than can be seen from a fairly long distance away. It's probably the prettiest section along the Glen Leigh trail. I'm so glad you like this view! Best regards, Gene

Wow...the composition is just right and the colors couldn't be better! Love that is in the "as-is" state ~ awesome capture, Gene! =)
Gene Walls replied:
Greatly appreciated, Jordan! Thanks! The water was slightly "blown out" in a of couple spots, but I decided to leave it just as it was anyway. Kindest regards, Gene
