Description
Sometimes you view your images for the first time on a big monitor and find something in them that was not obvious as you were shooting the photo.
This was an extremely cold winter evening, with a snow squall quickly approaching from the west. The West Branch of the Susquehanna river was completely frozen over, which is a fairly unusual occurrence in central Pennsylvania. My intention was to capture the stark feeling of an extremely cold winter scene along the Susquehanna, but what I got was something that was totally unexpected.
If you look closely at the clouds, you might discover an image resembling the face of God, looking down on the desolate winter landscape below.
This is Susquehanna State Park, in the Newberry section of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA. The photo was shot with a Canon EOS 10D camera using a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L zoom lens @ 126mm. The shutter speed was 1/125th sec at f/8, ISO 200. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release.

Have been in central PA under precisely these conditions and you've captured the icy mood. Can't say that there were any celestial goings-on during my visit, though.:) - v Lorenzo

Thanks a bunch, Larry! I never saw such a vivid image in a cloud before. I didn't even notice it until I loaded the photo onto my computer. Kindest regards, Gene
