Description
It was cold and rainy after sunset, but I just had to stop to grab another photo of this place. The abandoned farmhouse is located right in the middle of a large fertile field. Nobody has lived in here for a very long time.
One chimney has collapsed, vines block the locked doors and warped clapboards are falling off of the frame. The building has tons of "character", but it just sits there, waiting to fall.
If walls could talk, I'm sure there would be a wealth of very interesting stories for them to tell.
This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 75mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/2 sec at f/11, ISO 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release.

Love it. November is that forgotten time after the leaves are gone, but before the snow comes. It has a stark beauty of its own and you captured it very well.
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you most kindly, Jonathan! I really enjoyed capturing this unique rural scene in each season, under all kinds of weather conditions. Best regards, Gene

I love the song and it fits so nicely to this amazing foggy image! f/v
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you most kindly, Eti! There is a certain lonely feeling here, not unlike Axl's plaintive lyrics, but I have to admit that I was being a bit more literal. It really was a very cold rain in November. November Rain does have one of Slash's best extended solos ever. I'm glad my title brought that song to mind. Kindest regards, Gene
