Description
To my surprise, Ozone was presenting a very full "veil", especially for mid august. The summer crop of lush green growth was very thick all around the falls. Ozone is located about half way up the Glen Leigh gorge in Ricketts Glen State Park, a short distance upstream from the popular R. B. Ricketts waterfall.
The image was captured with a Canon 5D Full Frame camera using a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 26mm focal length. An ND-8 neutral density filter was mounted on the lens. The photo was shot @ f/13 with a long shutter speed of 10 full seconds, ISO 100. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
Ricketts Glen is located near the small rural village of Red Rock, PA, at the junction of Pennsylvania State Routes 118 and 487. The park is about midway between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania, in the north eastern region of the USA.

Beautiful, I am jealous, you have so many and we have none in Missouri, Maybe I will have to come to Ricketts Glen
Gene Walls replied:
I lived in Oklahoma for a couple years and two of the things I missed most were mountains and waterfalls. If you do make that trip, let me know. I'm a pretty good guide, especially through Rickets Glen. There are 23 named waterfalls there. Kindest regards, Gene

Very beautiful image! Strange how with all that water tumbling down there seems to be so little at the bottom, does it seep through the rocks? Another captivating image, Gene! F&V#2
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you very much, Richard! That's an excellent question. The same thought came to me while I was there, too. There are deep crevices in the red rock floor below the falls and practically no plunge pool. Yet, somehow, all of the water emerges as an active stream, just beyond what you can see in my photo. The three falls below this point were flowing nicely, so obviously, the water gets past here without any problem at all. Kindest regards, Gene
