Reading 902 Arriving On Track 6 metal print by Gene Walls. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
Actually, this is a pair of diesel locomotives, the Reading 903 and 902, in a push-pull configuration. They are currently on static display at the Steamtown, USA National Park & Museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Both of these General Motors FP7 engines were built together in 1950 and were completed at the same time, on June 1st. They were used as a pair frequently, beginning with their first official run on the Reading Company Line on June 6th of that year.
The Reading 902 & 903 have been on loan from the Reading Company Technical and Historical Society since January of 2010, in exchange for excursion rights.
This photograph was captured on November 11th, 2013. It was taken with a Canon 5D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 29mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/160th of a second, with an aperture of f/8, ISO 100. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
