Description
It was an extremely hot, sweltering day for a long uphill hike (with 30 lbs of camera gear). When I reached the Ganoga Waterfall, I was so glad to feel the cool mist that constantly blows across the plunge pool here. It felt so good that I didn't even mind having to constantly clean the droplets off of my lens.
Ganoga Falls is the tallest of the 22 named waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park, with a dramatic 94 foot drop. It is about 3 miled from the Trail Head parking area, on the Ganoga Glen Falls Trail. That's nearly half of the way to Lake Jean at the top of the gorge. The trail has a 1,350 foot elevation difference, from Trails Head to Lake Jean.
This photo was captured on Saturday, August 15th, 2009 with a Canon EOS 10D camera body fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens, at the 22mm focal length. The shutter speed was .3 sec at f/16, ISO 100.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located along RT-118 in north eastern Pennsylvania, near the village of Red Rock, Pennsylvania, USA.

Beautiful image, great exposure. I like the contrast between the trees in light and in shade, it give the image even better DOF
