I keep coming to this one, can imagine it hanging on my wall:)

Gene Walls replied:

Thanks again, Eti! This is one of my favorite waterfalls to shoot. It is the site where my current avatar photo was taken. In fact, I think my picture was actually snapped while I was shooting this very photo. 'Kindest wishes, Gene

Artist's Description

Shawnee falls was showering me with a refreshing misty breeze, as the waters of Kitchen Creek splashed over both sides of the large outcropping of rock at the top. The heavy early spring runoff had abated and the flow was dropping down to normal summer levels.

This site is located a short distance upstream from the F. L. Ricketts waterfall, on the Glen Leigh branch of the waterfall trail.

Check out that huge tree that had been washed over the falls a years ago. The healthy trees around the area were decked out in their most beautiful shade of spring green.

This photograph was captured on May 17th, 2010 with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 10D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/22, shutter speed 1/8th second at the 17mm focal length, ISO 200.

Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Ba...

My higher education includes Theological Studies, Electronics Engineering, Audio Engineering and Visual Arts. I taught a Media course at Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate). Photography has been an integral part of my life since the mid 1960's. Capturing the beauty and complexity of nature is my main interest, from macro close-ups to wide vistas views ...and everything in between. Natural waterfalls are the most frequent photographic subjects found at the business end of my lens. Historic Covered Bridges and farmland scenes are also very close to my heart, but any visually interesting...
