Mohawk falls was the last waterfall I photographed during my August hike through Ricketts Glen. This is normally the first named falls that most visitors will encounter as they descend the Ganoga Glen Trail. However, I wanted to save this site for the last light of the day. It was after 8PM, so I definitely got the soft diffused lighting I was hoping for.
The underbrush and trees were had grown so thick this year that I was unable to fight my way through to get a more open shot. Fortunately, when I viewed my images, I really liked seeing Mohawk falls the same way the vast majority people actually see it in the summer months... hiding in the forest.
This photograph was captured on Friday, August 16th, 2013, on a solo trek through Ricketts Glen. It was taken with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body. I was born in the wild hills of West Virginia, raised in western Maryland and currently live in north central Pennsylvania, USA. My higher education includes Theological Studies, Electronics Engineering, Audio Engineering and Visual Arts. I taught a Media course at Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate).
