Artist's Description
Sunset is quickly approaching as the last rays of sunshine illuminate the fall foliage along the shores of Lake Jean. The lake is located within Ricketts Glen State Park.
The photo was captured in the late afternoon on October 10th, 2013. The shot was taken with a Canon 5D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 29mm focal length. The exposure was 1/100th of a second @ f/6.3. The camera’s ISO was set to 400. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 head.
Lake Jean is located near the small community of Red Rock, just off of State Route 487 in both Sullivan and Luzerne Counties, in North Eastern Pennsylvania, USA.

I was born in the wild hills of West Virginia, raised in western Maryland and currently live in north central Pennsylvania, USA. My higher education includes Theological Studies, Electronics Engineering, Audio Engineering and Visual Arts. I taught a Media course at Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate). Photography has been an integral part of my life since the mid 1960's. Capturing the beauty and complexity of nature is my main interest, from macro close-ups to wide vistas views ...and everything in between. Natural waterfalls are the most frequent photographic subjects found at the business end of my lens. Historic Covered Bridges and farmland scenes are also very close to my heart, but any visually interesting...
