Artist's Description

Ganoga Waterfall, where the golden leaves were framing the scene so beautifully. Autumn foliage was nearing its peak here. This is the tallest waterfall in Ricketts Glen, with a dramatic drop of over ninety feet. At this time, the flow of Kitchen Creek was pretty good, thanks to a nice rain storm earlier in the morning.

Ganoga Falls is located just upstream from Seneca falls, about half way between the Waters Meet Point and the top of the Glen.

Ricketts Glen photo project update: As of today, every one of my spring, summer and autumn photos are completed. Only three winter captures are required for my book “Ricketts Glen: In Every Season” to be finished. Hopefully, this winter’s weather will cooperate so I will be able to publish the complete set of seasonal photos of this amazing place by spring of 2015.

This photograph was captured on October 8th, 2014, with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/10 with a shutte...

I was born in the wild hills of West Virginia, raised in western Maryland and currently live in north central Pennsylvania, USA. My higher education includes Theological Studies, Electronics Engineering, Audio Engineering and Visual Arts. I taught a Media course at Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate). Photography has been an integral part of my life since the mid 1960's. Capturing the beauty and complexity of nature is my main interest, from macro close-ups to wide vistas views ...and everything in between. Natural waterfalls are the most frequent photographic subjects found at the business end of my lens. Historic Covered Bridges and farmland scenes are also very close to my heart, but any visually interesting...
