Thank you very much, Melissa! We have lots of historic covered bridges in this neck of the woods. They are always beautiful to see in the rural areas of Pennsylvania. Kindest regards, Gene

Artist's Description

On the far side of the Buckhorn bridge, the road becomes a private drive. That limits the amount of traffic that crosses this bridge. This is the view from the gated dirt road.

The Buckhorn Covered Bridge spans Larry's Creek in Cogan House Township, Pennsylvania. It was originally constructed in 1877. The bridge was fully restored in 1998.

The old bridge is located a short distance from RT-15 in Steam Valley, 20 miles north of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

This covered bridge was officially listed on the National Register Of Historic Places in 1980 and is currently maintained by the Lycoming County Commissioners.

This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D body fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens, at the 23mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/45th sec at f/9.5, ISO was set to 100.

Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Historic Covered Bridges and farmland scenes are also very close to my heart, but any visually interesting...
