Artist's Description
The setting sun on the gentle Pennsylvania mountains was creating a beautiful autumn backdrop behind the Rose Valley corn fields and lush green grassy meadows.
The carefully managed practice of crop rotation sustains the fruitful production of these rich Pennsylvania fields. Next year you will see soybeans planted where the cornstalks are visible now and the alfalfa will be replaced by rows of corn. That way, the soil's nutrients are regularly replenished and healthy crops are assured for today and well into the future.
This photo was taken along Rose Valle Road, just beyond Trout Run Mountain Road on Saturday, October 10th. This is about 4 miles east of Trout Run, PA.
The photo was captured with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 35mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/60th sec at f/3.5, ISO 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a Manfrotto 222 pistol-grip head.

Historic Covered Bridges and farmland scenes are also very close to my heart, but any visually interesting...
