Description
Ozone Falls was named for a seventeenth century naturist organization that was based in nearby Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. With a stunning drop of sixty feet, this is the second tallest waterfall in all of Ricketts Glen State Park. The autumn colors were beginning show their warm seasonal hues where kitchen Creek passes under the footbridge and tumbles down Ozone Falls.
Ozone Falls is located a short distance upstream from the R B Ricketts Waterfall. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Ricketts Glen.
This photo was captured on October 10th, 2013. The shot was taken with a Canon 5D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 40mm focal length. Exposure time was 3.2 seconds @ f/16, ISO 100. A ND-8 Neutral Density filter was used. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
Ricketts Glen is located near the small village of Red Rock, PA, at the junction of Pennsylvania State Routes 118 and 487. The park is about midway between Williamsport and Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, in the north eastern region of the USA.
