Description
This is a beautiful series of stepped waterfalls from Ricketts Glen State Park in north eastern Pennsylvania, USA. This site is named Mohican Falls on the Ganoga Glen branch of Kitchen Creek.
I had a very difficult time finding a good angle to capture this waterfall. There is a viewing area at the bottom of the falls, but that point of view didn't show the true scope of the scene. So I climbed up the loose shale hillside, on the glen wall, across from the falls. Once I found a spot where I could securely setup the tripod (one leg fully collapsed, two fully extended), this is the photo I was able to capture.
This photograph was captured on August 15th with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS DSLR camera body. The aperture was f/13, shutter speed 1/6th sec at 40mm focal length. The camera & Lens were mounted on a Manfrotto tripod with a Manfrotto 222 joystick ball head. A remote shutter release was used to minimize movement.
