Description
This is an early autumn view of the Murray Reynolds waterfall, taken from the falls plunge pool. It was an overcast October evening, with a light rain falling.
The constant flow of Kitchen Creek has meticulously worn away a section of the sixteen foot waterfall cliff to reveal this unusual column of rock, centered between the twin spillways of Murray Reynolds Falls.
Murray Reynolds is the first waterfall that you will see while hiking up the lower Waterfall Trail in Ricketts Glen State Park. It's about mile and a half from the Evergreen parking area on RT-118.
The photo was captured on October 10th, 2013, during a solo hike through Ricketts Glen State Park.
This image of the Murray Reynolds Waterfall was captured with a Canon 5D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the longest focal length of 40mm. The aperture was set to f/7 with a 2 second exposure at ISO 100. A Manfrotto 550B tripod and 222 pistol grip head were used.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.

Thank you very kindly, Eti! The leaves turn a bit earlier up in the mountains. I had a blast shooting the falls with autumn's smells and colors all around. Best wishes, Gene
