Description
R. B. Ricketts Falls is always a fantastic waterfall to experience, in every season of the year. On this heavily overcast autumn day, it was flowing again after a rainstorm had raised the water levels in Kitchen Creek. The falls were still showing a lighter veil than normal, but at least R B Ricketts looked much more active that it appeared when I was here just six days earlier.
This photo was captured on October 10th, 2013, on a very overcast and slightly drizzly late afternoon. The shot was taken with a Canon 5D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 29mm focal length. The exposure was 5.0 full seconds @ f/22, ISO 100. A ND-8 "Neutral Density" filter was mounted on the lens. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
R. B. Ricketts Falls can be found on the Glen Leigh Trail in Ricketts Glen. The site is located half way between the B. Reynolds and the Ozone waterfalls, above the Waters Meet Point in the wilderness area.
Ricketts Glen is located near the small village of Red Rock, PA, at the junction of Pennsylvania State Routes 118 and 487. The park is about midway between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania, in the north eastern region of the USA.
