Description
Lower Twin Falls is the second waterfall that can be found while hiking upstream along Heberly Run. This beautiful waterfall is located between "Big Falls" and the "Upper Twin Falls", on the same mountain runoff tributary. The very active stream runs through Pennsylvania State Game Lands 13 in the Endless Mountains region of Sullivan County, in the north eastern portion of the State.
This site is home to a lot of lovely black winged butterflies that had small colorful markings on the inner portion of their wings. There was something attractive about Tim Devine's backpack that enticed them to nearly cover his pack while we were shooting the waterfall.
A strong scent of sassafras was wafting through the air here, adding another wonderful element to the incredibly pleasant atmosphere surrounding this beautiful site. It was the perfect place to be on one of this summer's final days.
I had a great time hiking up Heberly Run on the first of September, 2011 with fellow photographers Aaron Campbell and Tim Devine (Tim coordinated the trip and was our very capable guide). It was a wonderful day of exploring the north eastern Pennsylvania wilds with a couple of like-minded friends.
Please show respect when visiting natural treasures like this wonderful site. Leave it exactly as you found it so others who follow will be able to enjoy the same pristine discovery that you experienced.
State Game Lands 13 is located near the community of Jamison City in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, USA.
This photo was captured in Full Manual mode with a Canon EOS 10D body fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens. The lens was zoomed to the 40mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1.5 seconds at f/19. An ND2 neutral density filter was employed with a circular polarizer stacked on front. The ISO value was set to 100. A Manfrotto, tripod was used with a pistol grip head.

PA certainly has its abundance of Natural Beauty Gene as you have presented it here with the Lower Twin Falls. Beautifully captured and I must admit, with the water flowing so softly I was captivated and did not notice it running over my keyboard!!!! f/v

Agree with Donna-this looks like heaven:) v
Gene Walls replied:
Much appreciated, Eti! The day started out dark and rainy, but as we reached this spot, the sun was just breaking through the clouds. Heavenly, it was. Kindest wishes, Gene

Must be heaven to hear the sounds of the falls, very nice Gene! v
Gene Walls replied:
Thank you so much, Donna! The distinctive roar of a waterfall is very special to me. I was raised with the sound of a waterfall, right outside my bedroom window. (a real waterfall, not a man-made "water feature") That heavenly sound draws me back into the woods at every possible opportunity. Kindest regards, Gene
