Description
The Scranton, Pennsylvania train station platform has been completely restored to its former glory. Unfortunately, it is no longer used for boarding crowds of passengers. Today, it simply stands in homage to railroad history, on the grounds of Steamtown USA, National Historic Site & Museum.
This photograph was captured in the morning of November 11th, 2013. It was taken with a Canon 5D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens at the 26mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/80 th of a second, with an aperture of f/9, ISO 100. The camera was mounted on a Manfrotto tripod, with a Manfrotto 222 Pistol Grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
This image was processed in Photomatix Pro v4.1.3. Three bracketed exposures, shot one stop apart, were merged to reveal the full dynamic range of the sky, light and shadows in this scene.
Steamtown, USA is located at 150 South Washington Avenue, in the city of Scranton, Pennsylvania. The Electric City Trolley Museum can also be found here, just across the parking lot for Steamtown.

Seems a terrible waste not to use such an elegant construction... beautifully presented capture, Gene!
Gene Walls replied:
It's not totally wasted, Richard. It is a great place for visitors to take a rest after they have been walking around the Steamtown rail yard. The site covers a lot of ground. Kindest regards, Gene

looks nice but a little lonely
Gene Walls replied:
It was a bit lonely looking, but still a nice example of railway history to see. Thank you very kindly, Pamela! Wonderful wishes, Gene
