Description
There is something truly magical about the special shade of green that is found throughout Ricketts Glen State Park. When that wonderful spring foliage frames the R. B. Ricketts waterfall, it becomes a gem of nature, like a fine diamond surrounded by precious emeralds.
This unforgettable vision can be seen with your own eyes, along the Glen Leigh branch of the waterfall trail through the Glen. This scene is certainly worth the hike!
This photograph was captured on Monday, May 17th, 2010, with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 10D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/22, shutter speed 1/2 second at the 40mm focal length, ISO 200.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.

Sometimes the subject doesn't need to fill the image...love the forest surrounding the falls.
Gene Walls replied:
Thanks a lot, Tim! I completely agree, sometime the main subject needs a little "context" to catch its true character. Kindest regards, Gene
