Description
I am flying at a velocity so fast that I must be approaching the speed of light! I see nothing but sky above. Below are strangely familiar mountains, rivers and valleys, all zipping past in a surrealistic blur.
Where am I?
Where am I going?
Have I died?
My destination suddenly becomes apparent, right there before my eyes. The forgotten farm that has been the reoccurring focus of my dreams…
This photo is totally as-is, directly from the camera, with no post processing. It was shot using an old photographer’s technique, with a special One-Touch telephoto zoom lens. The farmhouse was framed and manually focused at 350mm. The lens was then set to the 35mm focal length, without any other adjustment changes. I fired the shutter with a remote release while immediately zooming back out to 350mm, while the shutter remained open. You are looking at the un-touched result.
This photo was taken on August 3rd, 2009. It was shot with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens. The shutter speed was 1/10th sec. at f/16. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable.
