Description
This photo shows how the Chillisquaque Creek has been redirected a bit, following some very serious flooding from when Hurricane Lee hit this area in September of 2011. A portion of this farm's grazing land has become an island.
Fortunately, these barns and the nearby farmhouse were all spared the terrible devastation that had destroyed many properties throughout this lowland region of PA. The altered creek continues on through the heart of Pennsylvania farm country from this point.
This photo was was taken in Montandon County in central Pennsylvania, USA, on December 8th, 2011. This picture was taken from Covered Bridge Road, at the junction of Creek Road, about three miles from Milton, PA off of RT-642. I was using a Canon EOS 30D camera with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L zoom lens. The focal length was set to 17mm. The shutter speed was 1/400th sec. at f/8, ISO 100.

This is a beautiful shot! The red color of the barns pulls you into the shot and the trees give the comp. balance!!!! Great work!!!! f/v

Thank you very kindly, Geoff! I am so glad you like the background information I wrote for the image. Some feel that it detracts from the "art", but I obviously disagree with that opinion. Best regards, Gene
