Description
Tuscarora Falls were looking very lively for August. As usual, the lower "veil" was split into two spillways due to the slightly reduced summer flow. This image was captured from the middle of Kitchen Creek along Ganoga Glen Trail on the Falls Loop. Tuscarora is located half way between the Conestoga and Erie waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park wilderness area.
Ricketts Glen is a large State Park, located in the north eastern region of Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest community to the park is Red Rock, situated at the junction state routes RT-118 and RT-487.
This photo was taken on August 16th, 2013 with a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens. The lens was at the 17mm focal length. The shutter speed was a full 13 seconds at f/13, ISO 100. An ND-8 Neutral Density filter was used on the lens while the camera was mounted on a Manfrotto heavy duty tripod. A remote shutter release cable was used.

Such a beautiful image, all we need now is the sound and the negative ions that go with it! Superb clarity and depth of field, Gene! F&V#8

Greatly appreciated, Richard! That roaring sound is pure music to my ears, and it is ever present in this amazing glen. Speaking about negative ions, a waterfall very near this spot is actually named "Ozone Falls". I always feel wonderfully invigorated as I hike these trails. The ionized fresh air is surely a contributing factor. Kindest regards, Gene
