Description
This was my second stop at the Waters Meet Point during this hike. I had just returned from shooting the three waterfalls on the lower section of the trail to find this amazing view. I waded out into Kitchen Creek to get a shot of the merging waters of the Ganoga Glen and Glen Leigh branches of the stream. From this spot you can see all the way to Erie falls, some distance beyond the footbridge.
"Waters Meet" is the spot where the two main branches of Kitchen Creek merge and the Falls Trails all converge. This site is located just downstream from Erie Falls on the Ganoga Glen Trail (left side of the photo) and Wyandot on the Glen Leigh Trail. It is a short distance upstream from the Harrison Wright waterfall, on the lower falls trail.
This photograph was captured on Wednesday, October 8th, 2014, on a solo autumn hike through Ricketts Glen. The shot was captured with a Canon EOS 5D camera through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 21mm focal length. The exposure was 1.3 seconds at f/14.0, ISO 100. A 77mm ND-4 Neutral Density filter was mounted on the lens. The camera was securely mounted on a Manfrotto 055CLB tripod with a Manfrotto 222 pistol grip head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
This image is presented "As-Is", just as the camera captured it, with no alterations or enhancements.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.

Wonderful composition and perspective. The water is a little lower than the day I was there. L/F

Thanks a lot, Marcia! You timed your trip so perfectly. I love the active flow that you were able to capture during your hike. It looks like I may have jumped the gun a bit this year. Kindest regards, Gene
