Description
The last time I visited Tuscarora Falls in the fall, there was so little water here that the plunge pool was almost totally dry. It looked very dark and eerie. When I approached this site from downstream on Wednesday, it completely took my breath away. The trees above the falls were as colorful as I have ever seen here. A friendly cloud enhanced the lighting of this shot a consderably.
Tuscarora Falls is located about half way between Erie Falls and Conestoga, not to far above the Waters Meet Point.
This photograph was captured on October 8th, 2014, with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/6.3 with a shutter speed of 0.3 seconds. The lens was at the 40mm focal length. The ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a 222 pistol grip head.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, less than half way to Williamsport from Wilkes Barre, PA.
