Description
The March sun was only moments away from setting in the Susquehanna Valley in central Pennsylvania. That perfect golden sunlight was illuminating this great red barn in a truly magical way.
This beautiful farm is located a mile east of Montandon, PA along RT-45 "The Purple Heart Highway". The photo was shot from Covered Bridge Road, a couple hundred yards from the highway. I waited here quite a while, until the sunlight was just right for the special "look" I was hoping to capture. This is the exact lighting that I had been patiently waiting to see. I really hope you like it too.
This photo was taken at 5:51 PM on March 4th, with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens. The focal length was 150mm. The shutter speed was 1/15th sec. at f/11, ISO 100. A heavy Manfrotto tripod was used with a Manfrotto 222 ball head.
