Description
The historic Moreland Covered Bridge had just been decorated with a fresh covering of snow.
The Moreland Bridge crosses the Little Muncy Creek in Moreland Township, PA. The bridge is also know as the Fraser Covered Bridge and employs a classic "Burr Arch" design.
This local landmark was originally built in 1888 and was officially listed on the US National Historical Register in 1980. The structure is maintained by the Lycoming County Commissioners from the County seat in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The nearest town is Lairdsville, PA.
As you can see, The bridge needed a little more than just a bit of cosmetic work. After the floods of 2010, the bridge was completely refurbished. Today it looks just as it did when it was originally built in the 1800s.
The photo was taken at 4:27 pm on December 5th, 2009. The snow was really starting to come down heavily and it was getting dark very quickly.
The photo was captured with Canon EOS 10D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens. The lens was set to 24mm focal length and shutter speed was 1/180th sec at f/4, ISO 100.

Truly enjoy these bridge works...not many in WI, well done;)
Gene Walls replied:
Thanks, Jack! I have been shooting our local historic covered bridges for many years. We are very fortunate to have quite a few here in north central Pennsylvania. They are very well cared for. The one in this shot was just fully restored, after this photo was taken. Kindest regards, Gene

Thank you most kindly, Marcia! I caught this shot shortly before the bridge was completely restored. It's a true historical treasure. Wonderful wishes, Gene
