Description
I have displayed other views of this old historic covered bridge. This incredible site is a true favorite of mine. It is at the junction of Bridge & Creek Roads in Northumberland County, where it is completely surrounded by well kept farm buildings and abundant fields of growing crops. Everything about this place looks like an earthly slice of heaven to me.
This is the Sam Wagner Bridge, a traditional Pennsylvania Covered Bridge (also known as the Gottlieb Brown Bridge). Most folks around the area just call it "the old covered bridge". It was built in 1881. The bridge was restored in 1982. This historical icon has been beautifully preserved and is open to traffic every day.
This bridge was listed on the National Register Of Historic Places in 1979, Structure #79002311
This old bridge spans Chillisquaque Creek, between Northumberland and Montour Counties in central, PA, USA. It is located a few miles east of Milton, Pennsylvania, just off of State Route 642, on Creek Road. On the Northumberland County side, the bridge perfectly fits into its surroundings of many old barns and well maintained family farm houses.
This photo was was shot on July 30th, 2010, using a Canon EOS 10D camera with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L zoom lens. The focal length was set to 17mm. The shutter speed was 1/30th sec. at f/16, ISO 100.
The single frame RAW camera file was used to provide five exposures, in one stop increments, from -2 to +2. The five exposures were processed in Photomatix Pro 3, to produce this HDR image.
