Description
When I was at Harrison Wright waterfall about a year ago, there was a huge amount of fallen timber piled high around the plunge pool here. Today, thanks to a stronger than normal spring runoff, most of the debris has been transported somewhere downstream. Mother nature has done a great job of spring cleaning below the falls.
The trees surround the area were just starting to show their new spring foliage this trip. That is adding a welcome splash of seasonal color to this beautiful spot.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located beside the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, about half way between the cities of Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.
Harrison Wright is the third waterfall up the Falls Trail, about one and a half miles from the parking area on RT-118.
This photo was captured on May 10th, 2011, during a meet & shoot hike through Ricketts Glen State Park with photographers Tim Devine and Kevin Hart.
This image was captured with a Canon 10D DSLR, through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the widest focal length of 17mm. The aperture was set to f/22. The shutter speeds was 1 full second at ISO 100. A Manfrotto 550B tripod and 222 pistol grip head were used.

This is a proper vertical drop waterfall, very dramatic - love the sunny highlights in the veil... A classic beauty, Gene, well caught! F&V#18
Gene Walls replied:
Greatly appreciated, Richard! I really had to play with the exposure on those highlights. Fortunately, the face of the falls wasn't "blown-out" by the sunlight. Kindest regards, Gene
