Description
Ganoga Waterfall, where the golden leaves were framing the scene so beautifully. Autumn foliage was nearing its peak here. This is the tallest waterfall in Ricketts Glen, with a dramatic drop of over ninety feet. At this time, the flow of Kitchen Creek was pretty good, thanks to a nice rain storm earlier in the morning.
Ganoga Falls is located just upstream from Seneca falls, about half way between the Waters Meet Point and the top of the Glen.
Ricketts Glen photo project update: As of today, every one of my spring, summer and autumn photos are completed. Only three winter captures are required for my book “Ricketts Glen: In Every Season” to be finished. Hopefully, this winter’s weather will cooperate so I will be able to publish the complete set of seasonal photos of this amazing place by spring of 2015.
This photograph was captured on October 8th, 2014, with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/10 with a shutter speed of 0.6 seconds. The lens was at the 33mm focal length. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a 222 “pistol Grip” head.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, less than half way to Williamsport from Wilkes Barre, PA.
