Description
This is Adams Falls, the easiest waterfall to reach in Ricketts Glen State Park. However, if you want to experience this exact point of view, it’s not quite so easy to climb to this particular spot …especially when you’re lugging a full frame camera mounted on a heavy tripod.
This was the last waterfall that I needed to capture in order to complete my full set of summertime views of all of the falls in Ricketts Glen. I waited for the evening light to get just right so I could get a shot that shows all of the natural beauty of Adams Falls.
This site is just a short walk from the “Evergreen” parking area on RT-118. It is, by far, the easiest to reach waterfall in the entire park. That makes this the perfect place to end the day in Ricketts Glen State Park.
This photograph was captured on August 25th, 2014 with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens on a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body. The aperture was set to f/11 with a shutter speed of 1/10th of a second. The lens was the 32mm focal length. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a 222 “pistol Grip” head.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.
